Q: When will my order ship?
A: We try very hard to ship within 1-2 business days. Sometimes we are able to even ship the same day if we don't have to go & make the item & the order comes in before 1pm MST. You will receive an automated shipping confirmation when your order does ship which will include tracking info so you can track your order as it makes it's way to you. We want you to get your Leetie just as fast as possible, so this is always our goal. Wholesale & larger orders sometimes take a bit longer. If you ever have a question about your specific order, feel free to reach out to us.
Q: What is Lucite?
A: Lucite is a very specific recipe of plastic that was originally made by the Dupont Corporation in the 1930's. It was very popular in fashion jewelry during the mid 20th century & remains so to this day. It has a lot of the clear crisp qualities you'd find in glass, however it is mainly shatter proof & very sturdy.
Q: Where did you find your vintage materials?
A: Many of the true vintage plastic components we use were found in Pawtucket, Rhode Island & were made by a company called Best Plastics who make jewelry findings & parts from 1963 through 1982. We cleaned out their warehouse of 40,000 lbs of these parts back in 2004. We have been in the jewelry industry for many years now, and have deep rooted connections to other designers & component manufacturers, so from time to time we still unearth real vintage goods. We also do use new & contemporary materials, however we feel strongly that we know how & where they were made & by whom, making our lines ethically sourced & sustainable. At this point in time, 95% of our offerings are made with vintage goods.
Q: Where can I see Leetie jewelry in person?
A: We have over 80 stores across the country (& even a few Internationally) which stock our jewelry. From hoop earrings to studs, statement necklaces to minimalist pieces, they might not have everything we make, but most of our stockists carry a wide selection. Be sure to support your local boutique by checking out our Stockists Page to find a store who carries Leetie near you.
Q: Are Leetie goods returnable?
A: Yes. We think you're going to love your Leetie & won't want to return it. But we have a very flexible return policy you can read about here.
Q: If jewelry is made with vintage parts, how do you have so many of the same color in the same style?
A: Because the type of plastic we use is porous, it is dye'able. So we are able to hand-dye different colors within the same style to keep them updated & fresh. We use safe & non-toxic commercial grade dyes that do not fade & wear really well with normal wear & tear. Not everything is dyed by us, but some of the frosted finish styles are our own custom colors.
Q: What type of metal do you use in your jewelry?
A: For our 'stud' style hoops & post earrings, we use Surgical Steel posts. Dangle & Drop earring styles are hypo-allergenic ear wires, made in the USA with silver, 24k frosted gold or gun metal plating. We are lucky to have thousands of repeat shoppers who love our jewelry because they have sensitive ears & can only wear light weight & surgical steel or hypoallergenic earrings.
Q: Is your jewelry heavy?
A: Not at all. In fact, lucite and plastics are by their nature, a light-weight material. People love that they can wear a large hoop earring or a statement necklace & it doesn't weigh them down the way glass or heavier materials would.
Q: What is this Sample Sale Group or the CommentSold boutique I sometimes hear about?
A: We work with vintage goods which are sometimes limited. Before anything gets listed on our site or offered to our stockists, we post it in the Sample Sale Group over on Facebook, either in a Live event or in an Album Sale. This is because if we sell it there, we can sometimes offer it at a slight introductory discount because we haven't had to pay to advertise it, ship it, commissions on it etc. And sometimes stuff will sell out before we get it on other selling venues. So if you're a Leetie super fan, you'll want to join in the fun there so you don't miss out. Here is a link: Facebook Sample Sale Group. Or visit Leetie.CommentSold.com to see what you might have missed in the latest event.
Q: Do you have a guarantee?
A: Yes! And it's even better than a standard old guarantee. Our regular shoppers LOVE our Love Your Leetie Guarantee! Here is what it says: Lose an earring? Put them through the washing machine? If you have any issues with any Leetie lovelies due to regular wear & tear and well... life, we are happy to send you a replacement within 1 year of your original purchase. And, with a smile! Just snap a pic of the issue, go to the order page where you originally purchased, and let us know!
What questions do you have? If they're not covered here, not to worry! Simple Contact Us & we are happy to help in any way that we can. We are glad you are here & our job is to make you happy & Love your Leetie!
